About NSN Dallas / Ft. Worth

The foundation of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Chapter began with a conversation between then Houston Chapter member Evelyn Jackson and Thomas Ellis in the summer of 2000.  Evelyn Jackson invited Thomas Ellis to attend the National Sales Network Annual Conference held in Atlanta, Georgia during September in the year 2000.  During that conference, Mr. Ellis met several other sales professionals also from Dallas who were attending the conference.  At that time, Houston was the sole chapter representing the state of Texas.  During the Atlanta conference, Ellis and others attending from Dallas expressed an interest to David Richardson (Executive Director) in establishing a chapter in Dallas/Ft. Worth to support the North Texas area.  The experience from the Atlanta Conference brought several attendees back to Dallas motivated to launch a new chapter.

In January of 2001, David Richardson called Thomas Ellis to discuss the idea of organizing a strong leadership team that could help charter a new chapter in Dallas that year.  Early meetings were held at Ellis’ residence, but the first official meeting commenced on February 1, 2001 at the Irving Regional Office of Whataburger Corporation, hosted by Daryl Hammett.  During that meeting, several parties helped develop the roadmap that led to the Dallas/Ft. Worth Chapter being chartered.  The members at the first official meeting included Perry Bernard, Deborah Brannon, Thomas, Ellis, Ron Fry, Sharon Garrett, Alva Green, Daryl Hammett, Paulette Ivory, George Petagrew, Kirk Roberson, Marlon Scott, Morgan Thomas, Johnnie Welborn, Dwayne White, and Gary Wright.  Other key contributors who played a role in developing the chapter included Morgan Thomas, Tim Keeley, Ray Dent, Claude Spann, and Tanya Mayes.

In April of 2001, Ellis was interviewed by the Dallas Morning News, which was pivotal in providing mainstream exposure and broader interest in National Sales Network in North Texas.  The first Kickoff Event for the Dallas/Ft. Worth Chapter was held at the Women’s Museum in Dallas Fair Park in May 2001, attracting over 200 in attendance.   During the initial charter year, the chapter brought 125 sales and business professionals into National Sales Network.

Since it’s year of inception, the Dallas/Ft. Worth Chapter has hosted two (2) annual conferences (2004 & 20008), provided three national board members, earned three national member awards (2004, 2005, & 2007), and won national chapter of the year in 2008.
